When using sign language, avoid making an explosive contact with your body and hands. For example, if you use the sign for “My”, bring your hand near your chest, touching it very gently. You will see the importance of this tip later on when you start signing full sentences.
Some people will actually slap their hands together. The noise can become very obnoxious. Try to gently touch your face when signing in that area. Remember the sign for the color “ Red”? Lightly touch your lip. Just put the finger near it as you make the sign.
